Nótulas (41)

Para aqueles a quem a literatura e a escrita interessam, duas citações de Richard Ellmann na sua biografia de James Joyce:
“Which would you say was the greater power in holding people together, complete faith or doubt? Laubenstein plumped por faith, but Joyce was firm, ‘No, doubt is the thing. Life is suspended  in doubt like the world in the void.”
… “Joyce’s great emphasis was upon the flow of the line, and sometimes he astonished them (as later, when he was helping Nino Frank with the Italian translation, he astonished him), by caring more for sound and rhythm than sense.”
